The Gladiator D-Coder Concept features the best tools from the JPP and Mopar catalog.

Among the massive lineup of seven concepts Jeep revealed at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari, the most striking of them all is the Gladiator D-Coder Concept. While the Wrangler Magneto 2.0 shows what an electric off-roader can be capable of, and the Birdcage shows off the most extreme hybrid Wrangler ever. The D-Coder concept features a long list of accessories and gear from Jeep Performance Parts and Mopar. The concept looks to be the most extreme version of an off-road spec Gladiator we have seen from the automaker.

The Gladiator D-Coder is essentially a rolling catalog of JPP and Mopar’s factory-tested and factory-backed items that customers can buy for their Jeeps. This is everything you need to know about the Jeep Gladiator D-Coder Concept.

The gloss black paint on the Gladiator D-Coder concept is only the start of all the great things about it. The concept vehicle features over 35 JPP and Mopar accessories. Each accessory has been painted in a contrasting Maraschino Red. A touch of quirky modern tech on these accessories are the QR code labels. Scanning the codes leads you to a live link to the Mopar eStore Or JPP catalog where the specific part is listed for sale for customers to purchase for their vehicles. The link provides specific part numbers, specifications, and pricing information for all these parts that customers can match and get for their beloved Jeeps.

All these modifications are fitted to the Gladiator Rubicon model. It features a Rubicon three-piece modular bumper with a single-hoop tubular grille and protector for the Warn winch at the front. The front end also features two TYRI 7-inch LED off-road lights placed above the winch. The vehicle is also equipped with JPP’s two-inch lift-kit and shock absorbers from Fox. The pickup truck sits on 17-by-8.5-inch five-spoke Beadlock wheels from JPP. They are wrapped in knobby BFGoodrich KM3 37-inch tires.

The truck is powered by the 3.6-liter, V6 Pentastar motor found on the regular Gladiator that makes 260 horsepower, and 442 pound-feet of torque from the factory. While Jeep has not disclosed power figures for the concept, we reckon it would not be at stock tuning. That is because the truck features some upgrades like the JPP snorkel that helps improve the vehicle’s water wading capabilities. Furthermore, but more significantly, the snorkel feeds air into the new Mopar cold-air intake. The final upgrade to the powertrain is the free-flowing Mopar cat-back dual-exhaust system.

To protect the passengers from debris and dirt, JPP has equipped the D-Coder with its Gorilla Glass windshield that offers three times the strength of a standard windshield. A pair of TYRI 5-inch LED lights are mounted on the A-Pillar on specially designed JPP mounting brackets.

For the D-Coder, Jeep is also using rock rails built from heavy-gauge steel for added protection to the lower body panels. The standard doors have been replaced with four JPP tube doors with mirrors. Rock rails have been provided at the back to help protect the truck bed behind the rear wheels. The bed also features a replaceable nylon rock-rail trim cover.

Mopar has equipped the truck with grab handles that make ingress and egress easier. This additional accessory was necessary due to the lifted cabin. Other accessories from Mopar include the mesh sunbonnet that helps maintain the open-air Jeep experience.

Like the added accessories on the exterior, the color scheme has been continued for a matching interior. Jeep is using the Maraschino Red contrast for the Katzkin leather-covered seats for the front and back row. Each seat features a QR code that directs to the Katzin website with further customizable options. The dash is kept neat and tidy with an all-black finish accented by glossy panels that elevate the look a little more.

Accessories from Mopar can be found in the interior as well. The Gladiator D-Coder concept features door-sill guards on all four-door openings. The stainless steel pedal covers and all-weather floor mats make the cabin better equipped to take a pounding when driving off-road. Furthermore, the truck bed has been sprayed with the textured Mopar bedliner for added protection. Finally, the Mopar bed rails help carry the THULE low-profile cargo basket that allows for additional storage space for the truck.

The Gladiator D-Coder is the second concept from Jeep Performance Parts that was revealed at this year’s annual Moab Easter Safari event. The second model by JPP is the Wrangler Birdcage which is the most extreme plug-in hybrid off-roader made by Jeep.
